This website is a collection of facts and photos about the Martin Family. Much of the geneological information was collected by Aunt Bobbie for many years. While doing some of my research a few years ago, I was surprised to find one of her geneology pages on another family's website since there was a shared ancestor. Aunt Bobbie provided a huge service by recording what she found. If you want to see her original work, contact me or the family to find out where her records currently reside.
I have since borrowed boxes of photos and information from other family members and was overwhelmed at the depth of history collected and organized by Aunt Bobbie. My goal of going farther back in history has been sidelined by my efforts to try to preserve and share much of what I have seen. This website contains much that has been created by others and, hopefully, it will continue to grow with my research and the work of others still hitting our family history trail. Again, I do not take credit for much of the research seen on these pages.
If you bump into this site in your quest for family history, pull up a stool and stay a while. This is slowly becoming part museum and part family research tool. If you share some common links with our tree, email me and say, 'Hi'. If you have questions about what you see here, email me. I'm not the authority on the subject, but maybe I can help.
The links on the side provide access to the photo albums, family tree pages, and current Martin links.
Enjoy your stay and God bless!
Howard
Updated: I have visited the cemeteries again and have made the directions more clear. Directions can be found on the Photos page (since it contains photos, right?) I also updated the Googe Earth kmz file with the location of both cemeteries.
Updated: There are more links on the Links page. I have included some pages from txgenweb2.org that have historical information on the cemeteries. I have also included as a downloadable link, the cemetery plot records for Morgan cemetery. Did you know that anybody in our family can go to the Morgan Cemetery board and say, "I'm related to Henry Lee Martin and about half of the other people in this cemetery," and they will give you 4 plots for your family, for free. I didn't know that.
